An HR officer who claimed she was forced to quit after being "instructed" to discriminate against women actually "misconstrued" the situation, the Fair Work Commission has found.
The Uconnex HR compliance officer claimed unfair dismissal following her resignation late last year, but the employer objected, arguing her decision was voluntary.
The Commission heard that in early December, the HR officer recruited an employee to start work as soon as possible. When it came time to onboard the new recruit on 14 December, the employer discovered she had given birth two days prior and therefore wasn't fit for duties at that time...
