New protections for independent contractors start soon

From next month, independent contractors will have access to a new jurisdiction for disputing contract terms, but the Fair Work Commission is yet to reveal a crucial detail of how that will operate.

The change is one of the reforms from the Closing Loopholes No. 2 legislation, and is due to take effect on 26 August.
